Frederick
R. Bieber earned a Ph.D. in human genetics at the Medical College
of Virginia in 1981. He serves as a medical geneticist at Brigham and Women’s
Hospital in Boston and as an associate professor of pathology at Harvard
Medical School.
Dr. Bieber has a longstanding interest in forensic medicine and public safety and serves on the advisory boards of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the United States Department of Defense. He is a special consultant to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and is a consultant to the Connecticut State Police Forensic Science Laboratory.
Dr. Bieber received a Distinguished Service Award from the Massachusetts District Attorney’s Association and a Public Service Award from the Massachusetts State Police. He is also a sworn reserve deputy sheriff in Middlesex County, MA.
