Katherine
Ramsland has a master’s degree in forensic psychology from
John Jay College of Criminal Justice, a master’s degree in clinical
psychology from Duquesne University, and a Ph.D. in philosophy from Rutgers
University.
She has published 25 books, including The Human Predator: A Historical Chronicle of Serial Murder and Forensic Investigation, The Science of Cold Case Files, The Forensic Science of C.S.I., and The Criminal Mind: A Writers’ Guide to Forensic Psychology, and has been translated into 10 languages. With former FBI profiler Gregg McCrary, Dr. Ramsland co-authored The Unknown Darkness: Profiling the Predators Among Us, and with James E. Starrs, A Voice for the Dead.
In addition, she has published over 200 articles on serial killers, criminology, and criminal investigation and currently pens forensic features for Court TV’s Crime Library, contributes editorials on forensic issues to The Philadelphia Inquirer, and teaches forensic psychology as an assistant professor at DeSales University in Pennsylvania.
Dr. Ramsland has been consulted by national media, making appearances on the Today Show, Larry King Live, Dennis Miller, and National Public Radio. She has also been on cable programs on Discovery, the Learning Channel, and Women's Entertainment network.
