Michael F. RiedersMichael F. Rieders is a forensic toxicologist and laboratory director at National Medical Services, where he is also chief executive officer. He is president and chief science officer for the Forensics Mentors Institute and the Fredric Rieders Family Renaissance Foundation.

Dr. Rieders is a Fellow of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences and a member of both the International Association of Forensic Toxicologists and the Society of Forensic Toxicologists. He is also active as a member of the Vidocq Society, a cold case review team of forensic and other professionals who donate their time and talents toward resolving old, unsolved homicides.

Dr. Rieders earned a B.A. in chemistry from Arcadia University, where he is currently course director for forensic toxicology in the Forensic Science Master’s Program, and a Ph.D. in Pharmacology/Toxicology from Thomas Jefferson University, where he is a lecturer in the Master’s Program in Molecular Pharmacology. He edited Science, Technology, and National Security, in which he wrote the chapter “Forensic Evidence in Real or Perceived Exposure to Chemical Substances.”

Dr. Rieders, along with his father, the late Dr. Fredric Rieders, wrote a chapter on “Chemical Warfare and Terrorism Agents” in Forensic Aspects of Chemical and Biological Terrorism. He has presented numerous seminars on topics in toxicology.
