Ronald SingerRonald Singer received his B.S. from Tulane University and M.S. from Loyola University of New Orleans.

He spent 16 years with the Jefferson Parish (Louisiana) Sheriff’s Office Crime Laboratory as both director and a criminalist specializing in firearms/toolmarks, trace evidence, blood spatter and crime scene reconstruction.

In 1989, Mr. Singer moved to Fort Worth, TX, where he established the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Criminalistics Laboratory, a full service ASCLD/LAB-accredited laboratory. In addition to his official duties, he maintains a private practice as a consulting forensic scientist. Mr. Singer has given expert testimony in federal, state and local courts in several states; has served on the faculties of numerous colleges; and has been an invited lecturer in England, Hungary and Bosnia.

He currently serves as president of the International Association of Forensic Sciences, a fellow of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, a distinguished member of the Association of Firearm and Tool Mark Examiners, an emeritus member of the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors, and numerous other forensic associations.

In 1987, Mr. Singer received the Member of the Year Award from the Association of Firearm and Tool Mark Examiners, and in 1999 he received the American Academy of Forensic Sciences Criminalistics Section Distinguished Service Award.
