Nancy
K. Mehrkens Steblay is professor of psychology at Augsburg College
in Minneapolis, where she is also an assistant to the provost and past chair
of the Department of Psychology. She holds a Ph.D. in social psychology
from the University of Montana.
Dr. Steblay has conducted research on eyewitness memory for 16 years and has specific expertise in the scientific technique of meta-analysis. She has published numerous peer-reviewed works on eyewitness topics, and serves as a reviewer of research proposals for the National Science Foundation and of research manuscripts for multiple journals.
Dr. Steblay is on the editorial board of Law and Human Behavior. She is currently conducting research in connection with the Hennepin County (MN) Attorney’s Office as new blind-sequential lineup identification procedures are implemented in the field. Dr. Steblay’s recent research is funded by the National Institute of Justice.
She is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Association of Psychological Science, and the American Psychology-Law Society.
