John F. TerzanoJohn F. Terzano is president and co-founder of The Justice Project (TJP) in Washington, D.C., and has worked on issues of social justice for more than 25 years.

In addition to overseeing and guiding TJP, he works with national and state groups on criminal justice reform, as well as lawyers representing death row inmates. Mr. Terzano is also vice president of the Vietnam Veterans of American Foundation (VVAF), an international humanitarian organization that he co-founded in 1980. In 1997, VVAF’s work on the international campaign to ban landmines was recognized with the Nobel Peace Prize.

He graduated magna cum laude from the University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law, where he is currently an adjunct professor of law. In addition, Mr. Terzano received a Master of Laws degree in international legal studies from American University’s Washington College of Law.

He is a former vice chair of the American Bar Association’s Section of Individual Rights and Responsibilities Criminal Justice Committee.
